Barcelona Middle School, GATE Program
"After learning that Barcelona's preschool program budget had been cut $104,000, 102 students from Barcelona Middle School's GATE (Gifted Academically Talented Environment) Program decided they could help fill the budget short fall by creating games and activities that teaches 3 and 4 year old preschoolers their colors, shapes, numbers, and letters. GATE students visited the preschool program and learned more about teaching strategies, state standards, and interviewed the preschool director. In the end, GATE students hand delivered their projects and taught preschool students how to play them."
